Do we allow farm visits? In order to protect our flock, and yours, we adhere to Bio security practices and offer to meet you offsite.

Living arrangements? Our breeds each have a pen in one of our coops with a private chicken door to an enclosed outdoor run. During Breeding season they are kept with their own flock and alternate free ranging but off season they are able to free range with the entire flock on our 19 acre property.

What do we feed your flock? Because we keep roosters with our hens we provide a balanced commercial ration along with Fertrel poultry nutri-balancer, free choice grit and oyster shells.

How is my order shipped?
Your eggs will be packaged with care and shipped by either Canada Post. Packaging and shipping fees are added to your egg order and once we have received your payment you will be given a tracking number. We recommend you track the package closely and are prepared to receive your eggs.

Can I pick up my order?
We do not offer farm pickup but can arrange to meet you at a location close to our farm. This is to insure the well being of our flock as well as yours (We are in the city often and may be able to arrange a mutual meeting place)

How many eggs should you order?
Approximately 50% will be male so order twice as many as the number of hens you would like. If you are not able to pick up your eggs you will also need to consider the fact that shipped eggs have a lower hatch rate. (often approximately 50%)

What are fertility and hatch rates?

We collect eggs often, handle them carefully and rotate them appropriately. We also test for fertility before we begin our season. We try to ensure that your eggs are less than a week old by the time you receive them. Shipping and incubation practices are beyond our control. Please be sure you understand the risks involved. We cannot guarantee hatching eggs and are not responsible for them once they leave our farm.

If the eggs don't develop does that mean they are infertile?
No, there are many reasons that eggs don't develop or hatch such as shipping damage, temperature fluctuations, incubation practices, equipment malfunctions etc.

Do I need to pre-order chicks?
YES, before we set eggs for your order we require a deposit. (minimum of 3 chicks per order, these do not have to be the same breed).

Can I order all female chicks?
No, our chicks are sold straight run, we can not determine the male to female ratio you will receive so we recommend ordering double the number of hens you are hoping for.

Do I need to bring anything when I pick up my chicks?
No, we will provide a box (and a heat pack if required)

How do I place an order?
The easiest way to place an order is to fill out the form on the "hatching eggs" or "chick" tab. Once we receive your order we will notify you with an approximate time frame and require a deposit to complete the order. You will be notified again when eggs are set.

How and when do I pay for my order?
If you are ordering hatching eggs to be shipped, full payment is due before shipping. Shipping fees will be determined by your shipping address. Once payment is received, we will send you confirmation of payment and your tracking number. For orders being picked up (hatching eggs), payment is due at the time of pick up. For chick orders, a minimum 25% deposit is due when eggs are set with the remainder due at pick up.
